Setting Up WSL

Windows released Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) back in June. Now I can use Linux on my Windows computer without having to swing OS in between!

Here’s what I did to get that working on my computer:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows features on or off > Windows Subsystem for Linux. Make sure to enable that or else a following error: “WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x8007019e”.

  2. Download Ubuntu from the Microsoft Store.

  3. Once complete, launch the app and make sure to give it a few minute for installation.
